Circus Time - Efvva AW13/14

I've been heard crying over our last year's EFVVA snowflake shoes before. It is just so annoying how kids grow out of their cool clothes and shoes so quickly. And while I can force P into a T-shirt that is a tiny bit too short already, or buy bigger pants so they would fit him for just a little longer, this is not the case with shoes. Shoes can't be too big or too small, they have to fit just right, which means if you are lucky, they might last a season. So with AW13 collections and look-books popping here and there already, I started crying over our Snowflake boots again, until I saw CIRCUS BOOTS!

This Circus collection might as well be my favorite till now (although there is a chance I say this for each new EFVVA collection) I love the colour and that it's main goal is not to be trendy, but to be unique and stand out from the crowd.

And then there is Gambion collection. Gambion is a Dino-Dragon-Bird, Ewa's son's imaginary friend who apparently loves to eat Cracow obwarzanek (pretzel) also feature in the pattern. You can just fell the softness of these jammies by looking at this photo.

Lookbook
The whole collection will be available in the online shop and retailers worldwide at the end of august.

Alto sewing machine by Sarah Dickins

The most unbelievably beautiful sewing machine I have ever seen.

And it is not just pretty. It is said to be used friendly and practical, with the arch opening space for your right hand, and a touch sensitive base instead of a pedal. Could you even imagine a sewing machine without a pedal?

Well, it is here. Designed by Sarah Dickins who says "By increasing the appeal and accessibility of sewing, Alto encourages users to ‘make do and mend,’ inspiring them to recycle, customize, and repair clothes which would otherwise end up in the bin."

I am not what you would call a Football fan, but with EURO 2012 being on, and Emanuele Magini Lazy Football chair, I could forget about that for a moment, and have fun.

If only I had a Flux

After two weeks we are packing up the apartment and going back to real life. When we are here at the seaside, we live very small. The apartment is only 20 sqm, but perfectly livable, especially if we are lucky with the weather and spend most of the time outside on the terrace.
When the weather gets rough we need to pack out stuff inside though...and it would be sooo much easier with Flux furniture.

Dutch designer duo created this one-piece, foldable, polypropylene chair that looks like a giant envelope and allegedly turns into a designer chair in matter of seconds.

I ma not a necessarily a minimal design fan, and 'designer' is in numerous cases more about the looks than function, but furniture that folds in seconds and can be kept in a wall mount just a little bigger than a tie-rack definitely has my attention. I would love to test drive one of those babes though, to see if they fold this flat even after they have been assembled and sat on for a while.

BUT, what my hear really aches, is actually the little sibling of a flux chair, flux junior!

I would like one of each colour! Foldable kids chairs are without a doubt something I would need. With enough grownup chairs in a flat to stock a smaller theatre, we never have the right number of kids chairs. They really are to die for, I think.

Flip flop mood

Enjoying the pre-season seaside with the kids brought me into the flip flop mood. Interesing design, and great colours make the below flip flops very special.

Would you wear them?

They reminded me of dopies a little...

KLOCC for Kids, by Judit Ducsai

Klocc for Kids – Hungarian design award winning innovative storage for kids.

Designed by Judit Ducsai Kid's Klocc, very much like it’s predecessor - Klocc bag,  is made from 1 cm thick 100% industrial wool felt. Formed using a special technique similar to the hat making process and treated to be water resistant, they are made from 1 piece and except for the zipper, you will find no seems on them.

Each of them is handmade in Judit's studio.

Bright coloured and ever-changing organic shapes and self sustainable forms are not only incredibly cool and beautiful, they also stimulate children's curiosity, creativity, abstract thinking and problem solving skills.

A toy storage solution which can easily become a toy itself!

They can be hanged, attached together, open wide, or closed shut.

They can also be given to Mommy to play with, because she is crazy about them.

The cheapest cool lamp, or the coolest cheap lamp EVER

You need:

IKEA EKBY VALTER bracket
IKEA HEMMA cord set
drill. screws, plug connector

And enjoy!

Piece of advice: if you are going to use it above your kids reading nook, use a LED bulb, those don't get hot, if your kid decides he wants to touch it, as mine does.

If you like my nook, you can vote for it by liking this photo here. I WON!
