Our tree is gone
During the flood we had in Budapest earlier this year I took P and baby I. to see the water levels rising, in the morning and in the evening every day. Changes were drastic, and at 4 years old he appreciates it and by seeing it he can really start grasping what the flood means and how it happens. I know it is terrible to say, but this flood was great for us. We had a fun program for morning and evenings, it brought us closer to the river and similarly to us, other people seem to be enjoying the catastrophe tourism, so our walkway along the Danube was never before (nor since) so full of people just talking walks and observing. It felt like summer at the seaside (it even attracted some wakeboarders). During that time we've gotten used to our walks down by the riverside so they continued even when water levels started going down. On one such occasion, when I only had P with me, so we could go closer to the bank without worrying I will jump in, P and I discovered this tree stump, so beautifully painted and huge. We still have no idea who had done that and why but we were secretly hoping it will stay there and can be advertized as another great Budapest backdrop.
Lucky for us, we spent an hour goofing around there.
And how cool is it that P is wearing his EFVVA Jungle T-shirt in same colors as the tree? (I swear I didn't make him go home and change just for the photos!)
Unfortunately, our tree is gone...they took it away, piece by piece...it got smaller and smaller, until there was nothing left anymore...only Chain bridge and the Danube:)
Oh, and BTW, I am in for the Top 25 European Moms - 2013, please vote - it is just a click of a button:)

Circus Time - Efvva AW13/14
I've been heard crying over our last year's EFVVA snowflake shoes before. It is just so annoying how kids grow out of their cool clothes and shoes so quickly. And while I can force P into a T-shirt that is a tiny bit too short already, or buy bigger pants so they would fit him for just a little longer, this is not the case with shoes. Shoes can't be too big or too small, they have to fit just right, which means if you are lucky, they might last a season. So with AW13 collections and look-books popping here and there already, I started crying over our Snowflake boots again, until I saw CIRCUS BOOTS!
And then there is Gambion collection. Gambion is a Dino-Dragon-Bird, Ewa's son's imaginary friend who apparently loves to eat Cracow obwarzanek (pretzel) also feature in the pattern. You can just fell the softness of these jammies by looking at this photo.
Lookbook
The whole collection will be available in the online shop and retailers worldwide at the end of august.

You can read my last year's interview with EFVVA here, see my boys wearing EFVVA Jungle Collection or jump over to Eastok Europe to check out the Lazy-Crazy-Hazy Summer Interview with Ewa Wróbel-Hultqvist
This Circus collection might as well be my favorite till now (although there is a chance I say this for each new EFVVA collection) I love the colour and that it's main goal is not to be trendy, but to be unique and stand out from the crowd.

EFVVA (Interview with Ewa Wróbel-Hultqvist + giveaway)
I fell head over heals in love with EFVVA the moment I saw the snowflake shoes. Find out about EFVVA and its creator - artist Ewa Wróbel-Hultqvist in the following interview. When you are done reading you can enter to win an EFVVA bow tie bracelet. Have fun!
First of all, what is it that we definitely
HAVE TO know about Ewa Wróbel-Hultqvist?
I was
born in the beautiful Polish town Krakow. I grew up in an artistic family
where design and art intertwined with each other each day. I have studied at
Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow and graduate painting. I lived in Stockholm for
2 years with my great Swedish husband. We moved back to Poland because we were
missing the warm weather ;-) and I missed my family.
Tell us about EFVVA! What does the name
stand for?
I
founded EFVVA in 2011. The name EFVVA stands for my name Ewa but with Scandinavian sound because I
love Sweden, I used to lived there and my husband and son have Swedish nationality,
and with letter F as in fashion. EFVVA is a young, growing Polish children's brand. EFVVA
loves children, fashion and art. We design unique, limited collection of
clothing and shoes for children from 3 months to 6 years. We use the highest
quality natural materials and our clothes and shoes are handmade in Poland,
personally designed and finished by me.We put a lot of heart in to our work,
fine tuning the product so that it is unique to wear for it's owner. All products are individually made for our little individualists who are our greatest
treasure. Therefore it is important to protect their future through care of the
environment. EFVVA aims to create clothes with respect to the environment and
human rights.
How did it all start?
Like I
said I grew up in an artistic family where design and art intertwined with each
other each day - follow this path worked out as a child was natural, but the
birth of the my son became the inspiration for the merger of three loves life:
painting, design, and children & EFVVA Brand was born.
How much does your son influence
your work?
He has a
very strong influence on what I do. I often ask him for advice :-)
Which part of the creative process do you
like best?
One of
the most enjoyable parts of the creative process is the first part when I just
start thinking and design in my mind the upcoming collections and the last part
finishing the final touches.
Do you have a 5/10-year plan, or do you
just do it instinctively?
Well, I really
like working instinctively, but EFVVA needs to develop and ought to have 5/10 years plan and I of course have it:-)
Favourite Polish designers!
I am
very happy to see so many interesting and great Polish children's
designers
I admire
great design Rafa Kids, miniio, miszkomaszko and many more...
Favourite foreign designers!
There's
so many great designers... I love provocative fashion by Alexander McQueen and
innovative and elegant designs by Coco Chanel

For those wanting to explore the brand EFVVA is offering 50% discount to first time buyers in October. Even if you don't see something in the desired size in the shop, contact her - she is really nice. My heart is aching for snowflake shoes.
