Playground Season: retro climbing structure

Just look at this retro playground complex! This climbing structure was designed by Ruth Clark Radakovich and Svetozar (Toza) Radakovich in 1960's in an effort to keep their children off the furniture. It was made of galvanized irrigation pipes and it is FANTASTIC:)

I forgot my phone, there is no point in doing anything today!

Anti-Loneliness Ramen Bowl

Cell Phone Holder Party Cup

 iPotty

I don't think there is a need to comment on the listed products. They are ridiculous and probably even sad. They do, however, make a nice little introduction into the way we are starting to live (Live?) When P was born, 4.5 years ago, we didn't have smartphones yet. Bath-time was quality time, for all of us. Now it is 'you kids do your thing and I'll do mine'.

This video will show you what we all look like, and how super-pathetic it is. It is almost like it is not worth doing anything if I can't record it...and upload it to facebook right away. Don't start walking today baby, I forgot my phone! I can't propose today, I forgot my phone...anyway, watch the video!

Smoking sucks...your life

I really, really, really hate smoking!
And if you have children and you smoke I think it is irresponsible and selfish.
It is also expensive, it smells and rules your life...

My son wanted to take a ''cigarette'' with him to the kindergarten today. He started playing he is smoking...he says: but it is only play mom. But I still hate it...my stomach cringes when I think of the sight of him lighting his play-cigarette made of straws. He even has a lighter!

I hate it!
And I am sad and angry...but mostly sad...

Villa Carton Ghost house - product review

I must admit, we had problems here. Even though P LOVES Villa Carton products (he even wrote a thank you letter with pigeon feather last time) for some reason, when I mentioned the word 'house' he imagined it would be the XXL House, so he could move in to it, with his bed. But that is all good, because in situations like this one you get the joy of teaching your kid about gratitude and that beggars cannot be choosers.
When we learned all about that and assembled the Ghost House we had to tackle a problem called LITTLE BROTHER, who just wanted to tear it apart, by all means. He is a fierce little fellow I tell you.
After all the drama, screaming, fighting and crying, we managed to get some play out of it. Mommy also managed to take some photos, download the to her computer and her computer decided to die one day before she got a new one (no backup, as you can imagine).

But looking back now, it is good it turned out that way. We put a Ghost House away for a while. Like most Villa Carton products, it is easily assembled and disassembled flat, which comes in really handy if you don't have a huge playroom. At the moment I have a Biplane hanging on my chandelier above the dining table, Pirate boat I use as decoration on my living room shelf  and we use City blocks as storage for smaller toys but they can also be flattened and put away, I just feel it is more handy this way.

By now the baby is a tiny bit bigger and doesn't dishevel everything at a first glance. He is more of a filler. He likes to stuff things up to other things. Like say, his big dredge truck toy through the house doors.

Interestingly enough, when I put his plushie inside and tryed to play a peekaboo game, he immediately wanted to save it.

It is a Ghost house after all.

Saved!

P on the other hand had other crazy ideas. First one involved trying to stuff himself into the house, imagining it was the XXL house.

When he realized he was too big for it, he decided he could be Alice in Wonderland when she eats a cookie and goes huge, her hands legs and head sticking out of the house. Just, we couldn't get his head out, because there is no hole on the rooftop (he did try to get me to cut it out like last time) so he pretended to be Alice like this

After a while he sort of decided Alice is no fun, because she is a girl, and he should really be somebody extremely masculine, so he went for Helcules.

This is when mommy decided it was time to end this game and have some watermelon.

As you can see, this is a Ghost House with various possibilities. You should try and see what your kids come up with:)

Circus Time - Efvva AW13/14

I've been heard crying over our last year's EFVVA snowflake shoes before. It is just so annoying how kids grow out of their cool clothes and shoes so quickly. And while I can force P into a T-shirt that is a tiny bit too short already, or buy bigger pants so they would fit him for just a little longer, this is not the case with shoes. Shoes can't be too big or too small, they have to fit just right, which means if you are lucky, they might last a season. So with AW13 collections and look-books popping here and there already, I started crying over our Snowflake boots again, until I saw CIRCUS BOOTS!

This Circus collection might as well be my favorite till now (although there is a chance I say this for each new EFVVA collection) I love the colour and that it's main goal is not to be trendy, but to be unique and stand out from the crowd.

And then there is Gambion collection. Gambion is a Dino-Dragon-Bird, Ewa's son's imaginary friend who apparently loves to eat Cracow obwarzanek (pretzel) also feature in the pattern. You can just fell the softness of these jammies by looking at this photo.

Lookbook
The whole collection will be available in the online shop and retailers worldwide at the end of august.

Angry birds tatoo

When last year our Finnish friends came to visit, we met The Moomins. I had no idea who they were before that, but you live and learn. This year they came back, with Angry birds!
Now, I can't say I met Angy birds now, because it is impossible to miss them, they are everywhere, but truth be told, I've never really known anything but to recognize them.

I had no idea Angry birds were Finnish! I also had no idea if it was a cartoon or a game originally.
Well, it turns out it was, and still is one of the one of the most sold games in the Apple App Store. I've seen Angry birds T-shirts, backpacks but apparently they are EVERYWHERE in every sense of that word. Shampoo, toothpaste, party supplies, bed linens, clothes, gummi bears, and TATOOS.
